New technology in the Criminal Justice field, is it helping or hindering?

The question is whether or not technology in the Criminal Justice field is for the good or bad. In my opinion the answer to that is both. New technologies such as finger printing, DNA analysis, being able to hack into databases and such and ballistic evidence are most definitely helping out in the field to solve cases faster. The part of technology that is hindering Criminal Justice is the fact that it makes it easy for people to commit crimes, such as child pornography and identity theft. They have had to make new laws due to the new technologies to prevent people from abusing it.
